Let Them Eat Soup! (Tea Towel)

Let Them Eat Soup! (Tea Towel)

Word is out on this new tea towel! Now available and selling quickly! I am printing an initial limited run of these beauties.

“Let Them Eat Soup!” in black, green, mustard yellow, or turquoise ink on white is my original hand drawn design benefitting the amazing non-profit La Soupe here in Cincinnati. The amazing volunteers of La Soupe work tirelessly picking up nearly expired produce from local grocery stores and food growers, from which they make soup to feed the food insecure in our city. The soup itself comes from the incredible recipes of Chef Suzanne Deyoung and was featured recently in Midwest Living magazine.

30 % of the purchase price of this towel will be donated to La Soupe. Help put a stop to food waste, feed the hungry, and get a beautiful and functional flour sack towel for your home! To learn more about this amazing organization please visit their website at www.lasoupecincinnati.com

Flour sack towels were once used by women in the 1930’s who realized that the sacks their flour came in was actually a wonderful, durable and absorbent cotton fabric. Women began cutting apart bags to make kitchen towels as well as small clothing items such as bloomers for their daughters. I use the highest quality 100% cotton flour sack towels available. All my towels are screen printed by hand using professional grade non-toxic water based inks and then heat set for permanence by me in my home studio in Cincinnati, Ohio.

These towels make exceptional gifts or (of course!) keep them for your own creative kitchen.

Beautifully packaged, an original Chestnut Street Studio recipe is included with each towel or set of towels.

Generously sized, this towel can be tucked into your waistband and used as an apron!
Measures approximately 29in.x27in.

Towels have been prewashed and preshrunk.
Fabric is 100% cotton single weave flour sack. All of my inks are non-toxic and water-based. There may be a natural variance in color and/or print. However, this only adds to the unique charm of a hand printed item.

Care Instructions: Cool gentle machine wash with mild detergent or gentle hand wash. Tumble dry or air dry in shade. Warm iron on either side.

The ink color may differ slightly from the picture depending on the calibration of your computer monitor. Props in photos are not included.
